I wish I was sitting down now
On the sun bleached grass
Where we used to talk and drink
Nothing mattered at all
Just the words we’d say
And the stories we’d tell
With a ghetto blaster playing
Mixtapes all day long
They were real special times
Full of fun and laughter
We fell in and out of love
Shared our heartbreaks
Then fell in love again
With someone new 10 days later
Give each other advice
On how to live our lives
Or how to ride a bike
Make money on the side
Get drunk once or twice
Where to buy our clothes
The army surplus shop in town
The secondhand vintage clothes shops on Clarendon Street
It felt safe when we were all together
A band of brothers and sisters growing up so fast
We thought it would last forever
Little did we know how soon it would be in our past
Some of us are gone now
Lost souls to the urban sprawl
Digital media keep some of us in touch
But it’s never enough
Every new day is both growth and decay
We’d live it all again
Do exactly as we did
That’s the best we can say
