I fell asleep
I’m silent now
My breathing is weak
I know you can hear me somehow
I try to dream
I’m walking with you
Through wildflowers and streams
There’s heat in the sun and birdsong blue
She will come to me in my dreams
She will tell me about her day
And I won’t wake from these dreams
Until she’s in my dreams again
The water runs cool
Around my hand
Tastes so sweet
Soothes my thirst
The playground is full
It makes me smile
To hear screaming kids
Running free and wild
Let me sit here
And rest for a while
Warm summer sun
Where I fell asleep
