Where you used to sit in the window light
Reading was your favorite time
Empty the chaos of the world from your mind
I can’t hear your breathing
As we lay together on the summer grass
These were our favourite days
Kissing and watching the clouds pass

This is us
You are me
Now I am here
To lay you down
So gently
So carefree

I can’t hear your breathing
as we drive away from our city grand
Those journeys we’re us escaping
To somewhere new without demands

You were always up for fun
Maybe we’d dance in the streets tonight
If you could I know you would
You were always the willing one

Something Sweet

You know that’s not cool
Let them do what they want to do
So long as it doesn’t hurt on you

What the world needs now
Is something sweet
All the beautiful people
Living life for peace

Things would only get better
If everyone can get together
Stop war make peace
Now that’s something worth living for

I know it’s not just dreaming
We’ve done this so many times before
Don’t stop believing
Make peace not war

Keeping me awake

The kitchen gets so hot
What you’re cooking up I taste

But all I hear is

When the shutters close
I’ll meet you when you’re done
The glasses are clean
Maybe we can have some fun

Find a late night bar

Keeping us awake

When the light creeps on the sky
Crash out in each other’s arms
Then sleep all day

So I can travel back home
Ride into town like a cyclone

I want to be impressed
Want to be decompressed
So I can see success
Forget the rest not feel less

Is it written in stone
Are the words unknown
Lost in the ether un-intoned
Flying around inside a cyclone

Don’t be afraid to die
Look that baby right in the eye
You’ll be ready when it’s time to fly
The long sleep falls on us from the sky

I know who I am
I know where I’m from

We building up our guns
We’re not afraid to run

No injury or pain
Perfection is it a game

About the bad weather
We were happy
Just to be alone

Drug deals done
On estate back lanes
In souped up cars
That sound like aeroplanes
Everybody’s trying
To make a great escape
To a fuck off house
Full of leather and lace
I’m no different
Got my vices too
I like to drink
And a smoke or two

Living large
Larger than life
Fun while it lasts
Stay out of the shadow it casts

If it’s my dream
It’s your dream too
We are the same
Same blood runs through
I got a mortgage
And a secondhand car
Forgot all about
Being a big star
I made the decision
To share my time
Stopped taking chances
I towed the line

Looking back now into the past
It was a good thing to do
Stay out of the shadow cast
Living life large
