Messed me up again
Freaked me out once or twice

I saw you were an arty child
Head in a book and in the clouds
Your beauty and natural humour
Astounded me for a while

City center crowds

Until we come home

We’ve been waiting
Trying not to get caught
It’s a kind of game
It’s our last shot

So we’ll take a drink
Raise a glass to love
And to freedom
To times gone past

The corner where we met
Underneath summer sun
Eyes we can’t forget

Just me and you

A room with a view

Then darkness fill the skies
The stars come light it up
Watch them with our naked eyes

From a distant world
Lighting up our lives

We are not alone
We are all of one
Everything is everything
Under every single sun

A thought could be a universe
A tear a planet fall
A smile could be a quasar
A scream when stars collide

Been overthinking everything
Dwelling on a simple word
A mind in confusion

You burst my bubble
There’s no doubt
The cautious steps I took into your hearts house
I count them all again and again and again
Now I remember you were laughing with me
You were really having fun as far as my eyes could see
But underneath your skin that love thing wasn’t deep
Your beauty in a photograph was all I got to keep

And by the way I’m feeling lost and alone
Like William Butler Yeats loved his Maud Gonne
I guess I’m feeling like I think the poet feels

Another summer love is gone
And other city boy gets it wrong

If I was Jesus Christ that’s not enough for you
You would not want me because I died on the cross for you
Lucifer could make you feel so so good
Scratching the surface would he draw any blood

And if I say I’m feeling lost and alone
I’m looking for attention not blood from a stone
I guess I’m feeling like I think that stone feels
Try to understand how love slips from your hands
The poet’s say say it’s nothing new
This feeling I have for you
