You look so happy
In every photograph you share
When I talk with you
You say the joy just isn’t there
You’re trying hard to make it work
Take the drugs and acting tough
You can’t sleep at night
Full moon keeps your room too bright
We can walk down on the beach
Chase the gulls until they screech
Watch the waves forming time
Tumbling stones on the railway line
If we look out on the clearest day
We might see the top of the highest mountains in Wales
We’ll go home I’ll make some tea
Play a tune be young be free
When all the world has open arms waiting for me
To run into them if I could believe
Don’t let the fear
Take hold of me
Keep me warm when I am sleeping
Watch over me when I get so low
They keep building human farms
Make us work to pay them back
All our lives
In a blur
No time to think
No time to think
We’ll share a drink
We’ll break some bread
What’s true what’s real
Is only in our heads
